Transgender Troops Face Separation by June 2025

On February 26, 2025, the Pentagon released a memo outlining plans to remove transgender service members from the U.S. military. Here are the key points:

  1. The Pentagon must create a procedure to identify transgender troops by March 26, 2025.
  2. Service members diagnosed with gender dysphoria will be processed for separation from military service by June 25, 2025.
  3. Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis if there is a “compelling government interest that directly supports warfighting capabilities”.

Currently, there are approximately 4,240 active-duty, Guard, and Reserve service members who have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria.

GOP Senators Push ATF to Dismantle Biden’s Gun Rules

A group of 30 GOP senators, led by Senator John Cornyn of Texas, sent a letter to ATF Deputy Director Marvin G. Richardson.

The letter called for the ATF to review and rescind several Biden administration firearm policies and rules, which they described as infringing upon Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

These included regulations on “ghost guns,” pistol braces, “zero-tolerance” policies for federal firearms license dealers, and the “engaged in business” rule aimed at closing the so-called “gun show loophole.”

The senators’ request aligned with an executive order issued by President Trump on February 7, 2025, directing Attorney General Pam Bondi to review all Biden-era firearms regulations.

Kash Patel Confirmed as FBI Director

The U.S. Senate confirmed Kash Patel as FBI Director in a 51-49 vote.

Patel faced fierce Democratic opposition over his qualifications and perceived willingness to target the president’s political foes.

Susan Collins (R-ME) and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) both voted against Patel.

Presidential Orders Target Federal Overhaul: Bureaucracy Cuts and Regulatory Reform

On February 19, 2025, two presidential actions were issued to reshape the federal government.

The first order, “Commencing the Reduction of the Federal Bureaucracy,” directs the elimination of non-statutory components of entities like the Presidio Trust and Inter-American Foundation, reducing their operations to legally required minimums. It aims to shrink government size, minimize waste, and boost accountability, with a 30-day deadline for identifying additional cuts.

The second, “Ensuring Lawful Governance and Implementing the President’s Department of Government Efficiency Regulatory Initiative,” mandates a review of all federal regulations to ensure they align with constitutional authority. Agency heads, alongside DOGE teams, will prioritize rescinding rules deemed unlawful or overly burdensome, focusing enforcement on clear statutory grounds.

These actions continue to streamline federal operations and curb overreach, with implementation guided by the Office of Management and Budget and DOGE.

Customs and Border Protection Releases Monthly Update

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported significant decreases in border encounters and apprehensions.

From January 21 to January 31, apprehensions along the southwest border dropped 85% compared to the same period in 2024. The number of inadmissible individuals encountered at ports of entry along the southwest border decreased by 93% in the 11 days following January 20, compared to the previous 11 days.

CBP seized 1,029 pounds of fentanyl in January, with methamphetamine seizures increasing by 15%.

1,977 shipments containing counterfeit goods worth over $291 million were seized.

Air travel to the U.S. rose by 4.5% compared to January 2024, while passenger vehicle and commercial truck crossings each grew by 2.5%. CBP processed over 2.9 million entry summaries valued at more than $338 billion, collecting nearly $7.9 billion in duties.

President Trump Signs Executive Order Extending Oversight to Independent Federal Agencies

On February 18, President Trump signed an executive order aimed at increasing White House oversight of independent federal agencies, including the FCC, FTC, and SEC.

The order mandates that these agencies submit significant regulatory actions for review by the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) before publication in the Federal Register.

Additionally, the Director of OMB is tasked with establishing performance standards and management objectives for the heads of these agencies, reporting periodically to the President on their efficiency and adherence to set standards.

This move seeks to enhance accountability and ensure a unified execution of federal law under presidential supervision. Notably, the order exempts the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy functions but includes its regulatory activities.

Critics argue that this directive challenges the traditional independence of these agencies, potentially subjecting them to increased political influence.

Legal challenges are anticipated, as the order may face opposition from those who view it as an overreach of executive power.

Whitehouse Issues Memo for ‘Radical Transparency About Wasteful Spending’

On Feb 18th, President Trump issued a memo to the heads of executive departments and agencies.

The memo directs “the heads of executive departments and agencies (agencies) to take all appropriate actions to make public, to the maximum extent permitted by law and as the heads of agencies deem appropriate to promote the policies of my Administration, the complete details of every terminated program, cancelled contract, terminated grant, or any other discontinued obligation of Federal funds.”

Whitehouse Posts Ad Encouraging Illegals to Go Home – Left Has Meltdown

Kristi Noem, Secretary of Homeland Security, released a video that will be part of an ad campaign to discourage illegal aliens from entering the U.S. and to encourage those already here to leave.

“We will hunt you down… you will be caught. You will be removed, and you will never return.”

The Leftist news outlet, Huffington Post, is calling it “Extremely Psychopathic” and “Disgusting”.

Others refer to it as “Depraved” and “ASMR”. ASMR is the term for the sensation people get when they watch stimulating videos, perhaps the latest way to describe ‘being offended’.

Whitehouse Calls Out New York Times for False Reporting

Whitehouse: “The New York Times erroneously wrote that there is no “proof” for “sweeping claims” of “fraud” in federal government spending.

Apparently, the Times and other like-minded outlets lack access to a newfangled research tool called Google.

The Government Accountability Office released a report just last year finding “No area of the federal government is immune to fraud. We estimated that the federal government could lose between $233 billion and $521 billion annually to fraud.”

President Donald J. Trump is determined to be a good steward of taxpayer dollars and put an end to fraudulent and wasteful spending.”

Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will represent the U.S. in a meeting scheduled for Friday in Munich to advance the peace talks.

President Trump Increases Aluminum Tariffs to 25%

On February 11, 2025, President Donald J. Trump issued a proclamation to adjust imports of aluminum into the United States, citing national security concerns.

The President announced an increase in tariffs on aluminum imports from the previous 10% to 25%, effective March 12, 2025.

This decision aims to bolster domestic aluminum production and address the ongoing global excess capacity crisis, particularly due to expansions in countries like China.

The administration believes that higher tariffs will incentivize U.S. aluminum producers to restart production and invest in new capacity, thereby enhancing national security.

Trump Reinstates Steel Tariffs to Bolster Domestic Industry

President Trump signed an executive order on Feb 10, 2025 that does the following:

  • Reinstatement of Tariffs: It reimposes the 25% ad valorem tariff on steel articles and derivative steel articles from countries that were previously exempted or had alternative agreements with the U.S. These countries include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, EU countries, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. This goes into effect on March 12, 2025.
  • Termination of Ukraine Exemption: The temporary exemption for steel imports from Ukraine is terminated, also effective March 12, 2025.
  • Expanded Tariff Coverage: The tariff is expanded to cover additional derivative steel articles, with exceptions for those processed in another country from steel melted and poured in the U.S.
  • End of Product Exclusions: The process for granting product-specific exclusions from the steel tariffs is terminated immediately.

The goal is to reduce imports, encourage domestic production, and address excess global steel capacity, particularly from China.
