Mexico to Place 10,000 Troops on Border to Stop Drugs, Tariffs Temporarily Lifted

President Donald Trump announced a provisional agreement with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to deploy 10,000 Mexican soldiers along the U.S.-Mexico border to combat fentanyl trafficking and illegal migration.

The deal includes a one-month pause on planned tariffs while negotiations proceed, led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick
