On February 7, 2025, the President issued an executive order titled “Protecting Second Amendment Rights.”
This order emphasizes the Second Amendment as essential for safeguarding security and liberty, asserting that the right to keep and bear arms must not be infringed.
It directs the Attorney General to review all executive actions, regulations, and agreements from January 2021 through January 2025 that may have impacted Second Amendment rights. Within 30 days, the Attorney General is to propose a plan to protect these rights, focusing on areas such as Department of Justice rules, enforcement policies, firearm classifications, and related litigation positions.
