Elon Musk Says DOGE Unlikely to Cut Full $2T Goal, But $1T More Realistic

Musk: “I think we’ll try for $2 trillion, I think that’s like the best-case outcome”….“If you try for $2 trillion you have a good shot at getting $1″

“If we can drop the budget deficit from $2 trillion to $1 trillion and free up the economy to have additional growth, such that the output of goods and services keeps pace with the increase in the money supply, then there will be no inflation”

“So that, I think, would be an epic outcome.”

Biden Admin to Give Another $500M in Weapons to Ukraine

SecDef Lloyd Austin announced the additional support when meeting with the President of Ukraine in Germany. Stating, “if Putin swallows Ukraine, his appetite will only grow”.

DoD: This includes the approval of a Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) package, which has an estimated value of $500 million, to provide Ukraine additional capabilities to meet its most urgent needs, including: missiles for air defense; air-to-ground munitions; and equipment to support Ukraine’s use of F-16s.

Since February 2022, the Biden-Harris admin has given $65B in aid to Ukraine

Biden Administration Sued By Alaska Due to Irrational Restrictions on Oil and Gas Drilling

Fox News: “During President-elect Donald Trump’s first term in 2017, he signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which required the government to allow for at least two oil and gas drilling lease sales in the Coastal Plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) by December 2024.”

“With the deadline quickly approaching, the Biden administration announced in December plans to move forward with an oil and gas lease sale of 400,000 acres within the northwest portion of the program area. But the lease, which was the smallest amount required under the Trump-era law, contained some restrictions.”

Trump Blasts CA Governor as Wildfires Continue

Trump: “Governor Gavin Newscum refused to sign the water restoration declaration put before him that would have allowed millions of gallons of water, from excess rain and snow melt from the North, to flow daily into many parts of California, including the areas that are currently burning”

“The fires in Los Angeles may go down, in dollar amount, as the worst in the History of our Country. In many circles, they’re doubting whether insurance companies will even have enough money to pay for this catastrophe.”

“NO WATER IN THE FIRE HYDRANTS, NO MONEY IN FEMA. THIS IS WHAT JOE BIDEN IS LEAVING ME. THANKS JOE!”

Supreme Court Moves 2A Cases For Conference Jan 10th

US Politics: The U.S. Supreme Court has distributed two Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) cases for conference on Friday, Jan. 10.

The two cases – Snope v. Brown and Gray v. Jennings – challenge “assault weapons” bans in Maryland and “assault weapons” and magazine capacity bans in Delaware.

SAF Executive Director Adam Kraut: “Snope provides the Supreme Court with an excellent vehicle to correct the widespread misapplication of the Court’s precedent regarding these firearms and the Second Amendment, itself”

Judge Blocks Release of Jack Smith Report

Western Journal: “Federal District Court Judge Aileen Cannon on Tuesday temporarily blocked special counsel Jack Smith from releasing his final report regarding his criminal investigations into President-elect Donald Trump.”

Meta Ending Fact-Checking Program – Moving to Community Notes

Meta: “Starting in the US, we are ending our third party fact-checking program and moving to a Community Notes model”

“Some people believe giving more people a voice is driving division rather than bringing us together. More people across the spectrum believe that achieving the political outcomes they think matter is more important than every person having a voice. I think that’s dangerous.”

“A program intended to inform too often became a tool to censor.”

“we will get rid of our fact-checking control, stop demoting fact checked content and, instead of overlaying full screen interstitial warnings you have to click through before you can even see the post, we will use a much less obtrusive label indicating that there is additional information for those who want to see it.”

Opinion: This is a huge win for free speech. It’s awesome to see Meta acknowledge their mistake and move to correct it.

Trump to be Sentenced in Hush Money Case on Jan 10th

Wisconsin State Journal: Judge Juan M. Merchan, who presided over Trump’s trial, signaled in a written decision that he’d sentence the former and future president to what’s known as an unconditional discharge, in which a case is closed without jail time, a fine or probation.

Merchan wrote that he sought to balance competing interests: Trump’s ability to govern “unencumbered” by the case, the U.S. Supreme Court’s July ruling on presidential immunity, the public’s expectation “that all are equal and no one is above the law,” and the importance of respecting a jury verdict.
