Trump Suspends New Foreign Corruption Investigations, Citing National Security

Whitehouse – In a new executive order, President Trump has halted new investigations under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) for at least 180 days, arguing that aggressive enforcement harms U.S. economic and national security interests.

The order mandates a review of current enforcement policies and calls for updated guidelines prioritizing “American interests, American economic competitiveness with respect to other nations, and the efficient use of Federal law enforcement resources.”

The President justified the move by asserting that “overexpansive and unpredictable FCPA enforcement … actively harms American economic competitiveness and, therefore, national security.” The Attorney General will oversee the review and may extend the suspension period if deemed necessary.

President Trump Eliminates Federal Executive Institute to Reduce Bureaucracy

On February 10, 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to eliminate the Federal Executive Institute (FEI), a leadership training program for federal executives established in 1968 under President Lyndon B. Johnson.

The administration stated that the FEI has contributed to policies that expand the federal bureaucracy without benefiting American families. The order directs the Office of Personnel Management to take necessary steps to dissolve the institute and revokes prior directives mandating its existence.

Trump Executive Order Strengthens Protections for 2nd Amendment Rights

This order emphasizes the Second Amendment as essential for safeguarding security and liberty, asserting that the right to keep and bear arms must not be infringed.

An undercover journalist confronted a Texas school administrator over allegations that the administrator advised a parent on how to bypass a state law prohibiting transgender girls from participating in girls’ sports.

The journalist presented video evidence suggesting the administrator discussed using out-of-state birth certificate changes as a “workaround” for the law.

The confrontation escalated, leading to the journalist’s removal from the premises and temporary detention by district police.

Mexico to Place 10,000 Troops on Border to Stop Drugs, Tariffs Temporarily Lifted

President Donald Trump announced a provisional agreement with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to deploy 10,000 Mexican soldiers along the U.S.-Mexico border to combat fentanyl trafficking and illegal migration.

In a live session on X late last night, Elon Musk said that he talked to President Trump about USAID and “he agreed we should shut it down”.

“It became apparent that it’s not an apple with a worm it in. What we have is just a ball of worms. You’ve got to basically get rid of the whole thing. It’s beyond repair. We’re shutting it down.”

USAID provides foreign aid and humanitarian assistance. Its annual budget is approximately $50B, and it distributes roughly $40B in aid annually.
